The CMC 359 is the blending of a Porsche 356 Speedster silhouette with elements from the 959 Coupe, as the name suggests. That includes the headlight design, slotted bumpers, and rear wing. The 359 is a unique fiberglass creation produced by Classic Motor Carriages – once one of the world's largest kit car producers.
On the interior of the car, you'll find a pair of Porsche-style sporty bucket seats complimented by the black carpet, door panels, and dash. Set up for a fun driving experience, you'll also find the leather-wrapped three-spoke sports steering wheel, full VDO gauge package, an AM/FM radio with cassette player, and a shifter that's positioned just right if you decide to do some light performance driving. The CMC 359 also sports 17" alloy wheels with plenty of life left on the tires.
The 1600cc Flat-Four Volkswagen engine is located under the rear deck and is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. With the body of the CMC 359 being made of lightweight fiberglass, the Volkswagen engine provides plenty of pep. The engine is outfitted with a Weber Progressive Carburetor, dual port intake, and a doghouse oil cooler. The VW 1600cc engine is also much easier and cheaper to maintain and fix compared to more modern-day engines - many genuine parts are still being made available for these motors as well. This 5339 miles shown CMC 359 also features I.R.S. or Independent Rear Suspension, adding to the driving experience by providing a smoother overall ride.
Overall, this CMC 359 is a rare gem in good condition. Imperfections include minor scuffs/scratches on wheels near lug holes, some swirling in paint, and some cracking paint (see pictures). Vehicle starts right up and runs and drives as it should with no shaking or abnormal vibrations. Vehicle will also be serviced and inspected prior to sale by a 3rd party mechanic, copy of the servicing and inspection will be included for the buyer.
