This 1995 Caterham Super 7 is a left-hand drive example with a 1,700cc Ford Kent crossflow four, Weber sidedraft carburetors, a 5-speed manual gearbox, and de Dion rear suspension. Previously an California car, this example was purchased in 2013 by its previous owner and driven approximately 10,000 miles over the following four years. Acquired recently by the selling dealer, the car now has 35k indicated miles and is sold with a soft top, side panels, tonneau cover, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
Aluminum body panels and fiberglass fenders are affixed to a space-frame chassis and finished in classic green and yellow livery some spider cracks are noted. Caterham-badged 16″ 5-spoke alloys wear Kumho rubber, and a full-size spare is mounted out back.
Wind wings are fitted to the windshield frame, and a soft top, side panels, and tonneau cover are included in the sale. Occupants are protected by a 4-point roll bar. And Full Safety Harnesses.
Fixed classic seats are said to be in good condition, as is the thick-rimmed racing wheel, while carpeting has recently been replaced according to the seller. Simple VDO instrumentation includes a 5-digit odometer showing just over 35k miles. All gauges and switch gear are in operating order.
The 1,700cc “Super Sprint” engine is a Ford Kent inline-four with a crossflow cylinder head. Induction is from twin Weber 40 DCOE carburetors capped with K&N filters, while exhaust is routed through a header and side-exit piping. The engine is paired with a Ford T-9 5-speed gearbox and was rated at 133 horsepower when new. Curb weight is under 1,300 lbs.
Suspension is from double wishbones with coil-overs up front and a classic live axle rear end. A October 2017 service included an oil/filter change and new gaskets. The car comes with an inspection report.
